2016 Annual Meeting
Greene County Soil and Water Conservation District held its 2016 Annual Meeting on February 16, 2016 at the Greene County Community Event Center. There were 47 people in attendance for the evening. Susan Brocksmith of the Vincennes University Agribusiness Program was the guest speaker and spoke of how farming and agriculture has impacted her life.
The 2015 Conservation Farmer of the Year Award went to Steve Shantz.
The 2015 Conservation Teacher of the Year Award went to Shelby Hovious of Eastern-Greene School District.
Congratulations Steve and Shelby for your hard work and dedication to agriculture and conservation!
Hoosier Homestead Farms of Greene County were also recognized. There are 24 registered Hoosier Homestead Farms in Greene County. This program recognizes families with farms that have been owned by the same family for 100 years or more. Congratulations to these family farms for all their hard work throughout the years! What an achievement for farms!!
